Progress with Learning to See Energy

I used to hold the belief that I couldn’t see energy or auras, while John has been able to see energy all of his life. Recently I decided that it was time to let go of that belief, since seeing energy just seemed like an opportunity to get to know reality in yet another new way. And not only let go of the belief, but choose a new belief where I was now learning to see it. Even though beliefs are ‘just beliefs’ or ‘just thoughts’, it’s amazing how different they can feel when you shift your focus – even the ‘small’ shifts.

I selected some exercises from books I had and websites I’d bookmarked. I reminded myself that I had to play along and not dismiss something as an ‘afterimage’ or the like. As I lay down to go to sleep, it took me a while to relax my usual waking focus to something more open and loose. (At this point I have occasionally seen faint ‘sparkles’ in the room, which I think of as random energy.) Then, in the darkened room, I held my hand up in the air with the ceiling in the background.

I had to remember not to try too hard, and that I was aligning myself with the ability, not with NOT having the ability, or blocking it. I took deep breaths and let my gaze relax. On a conscious level, I was expecting to see a very pale haze of lightness around the outline of my hand. Which I did! Although I had to watch for the immediate dismissal, which I mentioned above. But what I wasn’t expecting to see was tiny sparkles of white lights, mostly in the spaces between my spread-out fingers! (Brighter and more concentrated than the random sparkles.) Even better, since it was something I wasn’t expecting, it wasn’t something my left brain could dismiss as easily.

Since that first time, I’ve been able to practice it a few more times. Each time I’ve had to take a little while to relax my daytime focus and tune into my intuitive faculties more. I’ll continue to practice, and as usual, see where it takes me. It’s fun to be stepping out into undiscovered experiential territory!

Note: While browsing The LD4ALL Lucid Dreaming Forum, I found this article about using your attention to what the author called “phosphenes” (my ‘sparkles’ – wikipedia describes them as “A phosphene is a phenomenon characterized by the experience of seeing light without light actually entering the eye.”) to attempt to induce a lucid dream. Interview with Rick Stack about The Secret to Healing Cancer Book

Many of you already know Rick Stack as being one of the original attendees of the Seth Classes given by Jane Roberts and Robert Butts in Elmira, New York, and as the author of Out-Of-Body Adventures, as well as the CEO of New Awareness Network and the owner of the SethCenter.com website.

Now he’s also the editor of a book by Dr Tien-Sheng Hsu called The Secret to Healing Cancer: A Chinese Psychiatrist and Family Doctor Presents His Amazing Method For Curing Cancer Through Psychological And Spiritual Growth.

Dr Tien-Sheng Hsu is a highly respected medical doctor and psychiatrist in Taiwan who uses the Seth material as a main component of his practice. Among his many accomplishments, Dr Hsu has founded a Holistic Seth Clinic that has treated thousands of people for a variety of physical and mental illnesses and has achieved “miraculous” results by teaching people to address the real cause of illness and heal themselves using the principles presented in the Seth material. His method is based on the concept that all illness is a reflection of inner problems which disrupt the powerful immune system that is our natural state. This inner dis-ease can be described as unresolved issues, blockages, repressed emotion, habitual negative patterns of thought, or unhealthy behavior that exists in the individual’s psychology, life, and “heart”. Dr Hsu’s emphasis is on psychological and spiritual growth and on helping the individual to heal their psyche and their life. In this fashion they can reinvigorate and unleash the body’s powerful natural healing and recuperative powers. The many people who have dramatically improved or completely healed themselves with the aid of Dr Hsu, have resulted in a burgeoning interest in this approach throughout Asia. He is also the founder of the Seth Educational Foundation in Taiwan. (quoted from Sethcenter.com)

How I Got Into The Vortex

We are pleased to have an old friend as a guest blogger for this post, Andy Monheit, writing about the power of perspective!

How I Got into the Vortex
By Andy Monheit

At the Abraham (with Esther Hicks) workshop in Folsom, California, held on March 3rd 2012, I had a discussion with Abraham about how it felt to be in the Vortex and how I felt I had come to find myself there. Some people on the Facebook Abe forum asked me how I got into the Vortex, so I wrote the following:

I got into the Vortex by realizing that I was already there and understanding how it was that I could be fooled into thinking that I wasn’t in the Vortex. That’s it.

If you are reading this, I want you to know that the “you” that is reading this, is already in the vortex, and the very act of trying to figure out “how” you can get into the vortex is one of the very things that kicks you “out.” Only you are never “out,” you are simply using your mind (AKA the “power that creates worlds”) to create a world where you believe you are out of the vortex, and once you have that belief (that you are outside of the Vortex) everything you experience will only serve to verify that belief even more.

Yeah, it sounds complicated, because words are a poor medium to explain this. Think of it this way: It’s like a picture that is also a visual illusion that can be seen two different ways. In this case, if you look at it one way, your life seems to be an endless struggle where you have to constantly work at improving yourself and if you see it the other way, your life is a lazy ride down the river that gets better and better. What I’m going to try and do here is get you to see the fun way to see the illusion. Continue reading “How I Got Into The Vortex”
