This is an interesting synchronicity – this morning I heard about Occupy Wall Street’s intention to buy debt and then erase it, in this article: Occupy Wall Street Is Buying And Paying The 99%’s Debt. They are calling their project ‘Rolling Jubilee’, which I didn’t understand, but liked the name all the same. What a great idea! (Check out the article linked above for specifics about the program – it will inspire you!)
A little while later, I was poking through a newsletter with free kindle books and one caught my eye called, “Run With The Vision: Ancient Prophecy Foresees A Powerful Debtors’ Revolt Breaking Financial Tyranny” by Henry Garman. The description indicates that the Jubilee is actually a biblical prophecy: “The Vision foresees a blessed time in the future when mankind finally fully awakes and throws off tyranny. The Bible calls this blessed time Jubilee. Beginning with a trumpet blast, liberty was proclaimed throughout the land in the Year of Jubilee. Debts were cancelled, slaves set free. The people returned and took back their inheritance.” Ah – NOW I know why OWS is using the Jubilee word! (Note: I have not read the book yet, so I can’t vouch for it at all, but I’ve included the link so you can investigate it further if you want to.)
I’m certainly no biblical scholar or prophecy adherent, to say the least, but the energy behind this concept, and the further explanation I attracted… it all just resonates with me, and where I am on my own path to transforming my personal focus on money and life in general. So I am sharing!
